Details of the Tour

Specializing in components for automobiles and home appliances, this company has earned long-standing trust in the B2B sector with its advanced plastic processing technologies.

However, in the turbulent 2000s, when Japan’s manufacturing industry shifted toward overseas production, the company faced instability in its business. To overcome this crisis, it took on the challenge of developing original in-house products and expanded its sales channels into the B2C market.

Today, it continues to move forward as an “independent manufacturer,” going beyond the traditional role of a subcontractor.

In this training and factory tour, participants will gain practical insights into on-site improvement, with a focus on 5S activities (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain). Next, let us visit the site where the products are actually manufactured.

Here, you can observe how plastic plates are manufactured — in just moments, a single plate is completed.

This product is one of the company’s original B2C items, also mentioned in the president’s lecture. Seeing it actually being produced on-site leaves a strong impression.

Next, we will visit the area where plastic recycling is carried out.

When producing parts and products, some surplus material is inevitably generated. Instead of simply discarding it, the company makes every effort to reuse as much as possible — and here, you will learn more about these initiatives.

Next is the mold maintenance room — the area where the molds essential for shaping plastic products are maintained. As the unsung heroes of plastic molding, which is carried out under extremely high temperatures, these molds require careful upkeep. Here, you will learn how they are preserved and maintained.

Finally, let us take a look at the company’s 5S activities. Every month, each employee proposes one improvement initiative. In this area, all employee proposals are displayed, creating a space where everyone can learn about each other’s improvement efforts.

Employee self-introductions are posted on the wall, providing an opportunity to learn about colleagues one might not usually interact with. It has become a valuable way to foster connection within the workplace.
